Warehouse Order Selector

To keep our warehouses operating at peak efficiency, Dot employs thousands of warehouse order selectors. These men and women use state-of-the-art material handling equipment and warehouse management systems to build pallets of product for shipment, receive product into the warehouse, put away product in fill locations and replenish product into home slots.

Working Conditions

• Temperature extremes: hot and humid temperatures and/or 5 below zero freezer temperature
• Night/weekend shift work
• Occasional overtime as necessary to meet production schedules

Responsibilities include:

• Safely and efficiently using warehouse material handling equipment
• Using RF units and pick tickets, and receiving documentation
• Building stable, well-built accurate pallet loads for shipment, understanding pallet layers, heights and counting methods used when working with pallets of product
• Reading and understanding product descriptions, packaging and pick ticket messages
• Consistently meeting established company production and service level standards
• Understanding operations clerk, order selector, and dock worker duties as they apply to the order selector position
• Using good housekeeping procedures
• Using warehouse processes to minimize damage and other waste

Requirements include:

• High School diploma or GED required
• Must be at least 18 years of age or older
• Must meet minimum requirements on pre-employment testing, including physical ability tests
• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds continually during shift
• Ability to consistently meet minimum production standards and company service levels
• Must obtain Electric Pallet Jack and Narrow Aisle license and Forklift certifications during initial training phase
